Evan Murphy

As a Family Office Advisor, Evan advises multi-generational families. He is responsible for helping families identify, implement, and achieve their long-term goals through comprehensive estate planning, investment management, risk solutions, philanthropy, and family education. Evan is a key member of the family office team, interacting with and integrating the specialized disciplines of internal and external partners to provide ongoing strategic advice and solutions that meet clients’ short-term needs and long-term objectives.

Evan has extensive experience in the financial services industry with a focus on family office services, wealth management, and investments. Before joining The Family Office at Synovus in 2023, Evan served as Director of Investments and Trading at an Atlanta-based RIA. Prior to that, he was the Family Office Director at a single family office located in the US and Europe. He began his career as a commodities trader at a private, proprietary firm.

Originally from Ireland, Evan earned a Master of Business Studies from the Smurfit School of Business, University College Dublin and a Bachelor of Commerce, Economics and Accounting, from the National University of Ireland, Galway. In addition, he holds Series 65 and 3 licenses.

Evan and his wife, Suzanne, live in Atlanta, Georgia with their three children. Outside of business hours, you can find Evan on the soccer pitch, volunteering as a coach at his children’s youth program. He and his family are also active in their school communities in the Atlanta area.
